Have you ever secretly hoped, or believed that there is an artist inside you just waiting to be released? I truly believe there is an artist in everyone. As a person who believes we are created in the image of our maker, it’s a natural path to the belief that every individual is meant to be creative. The very first thing we read in the Bible about God is that “in the beginning, He created”. If we are made in His image then, we too are meant to be creative. You may not share my spiritual beliefs, so let me steer your thoughts toward nature itself. Have you ever considered that there doesn’t have to be hundreds of different colors and designs of butterflies? They could just all be gray. But somehow, Mother Nature decided to create beautiful colors, patterns and even shimmering irredescent butterfly wings. And every individual who has ever walked this earth has unique characteristics and facial features. Creativity is all around us. But, living in the society that we do, sometimes, creativity and art aren’t valued enough in general and many of us have felt that art was only for artists – or someone else- not us. Many people have such fast paced lives that there truly is not much time for allowing the muse or the “flow” of creativity to work through them. But I believe being creative, or doing art is so powerful to soothe our souls that we MUST make time in our lives. Perhaps it is one of the MAIN reasons we exist. To be creative. Please decide, if you haven’t already, to MAKE time in your life for art. Whether it is 10 minutes a day or a few hours a week. Just do it. You wouldn’t have read this far if you didn’t have a calling or an intuition telling you that you should pursue your creative instincts. I believe it’s your birthright.
